Senior Full-Stack Engineer | LegalTech AI | UK Remote

I’m working with a fast-growing AI start-up building a platform for legal, risk and compliance teams. It’s AI with discipline at its core, designed for how regulated teams actually work, not another generic tool.

The founders come from top-tier law firms, Big 4 consultancies and global enterprises, and they’ve spent their careers fixing the processes behind disputes, complaints and complex casework. Now they’re building the tools they always wished they had.

The role

You’ll join a small, senior engineering team and own features end to end, from customer requirements to production. You’ll work alongside product, legal experts and an AI evaluations team on:

🔹 Scaling legal workflows to new sectors and customers

🔹 Building APIs and integrations with case-management systems, document stores and identity providers

🔹 Security and data protection across everything you ship

🔹 Improving the core product UX: document upload, evidence review, editing AI drafts

🔹 Owning your work in production: IaC, runbooks, monitoring

Stack: TypeScript, NestJS, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, Terraform, Docker. You don’t need to know all of it on day one.

What you’ll bring

✅ 5+ years building and running production web apps, across backend and frontend

✅ Experience running LLM-backed features in production (structured outputs, reliability, cost, failure handling)

✅ Strong API design and third-party integration experience

✅ A security mindset covering auth, safe file handling and personal data

✅ Confidence with relational databases and safe live migrations

✅ Enough cloud/IaC experience to ship your own work

✅ Clear writing, and comfort working with domain experts

Bonus: legal or regulated-sector experience, ISO 27001/GDPR, document processing, OCR or multimodal models.
