GoEngineer is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team focused on building and modernizing the customer-facing tools that our users rely on every day. This role is ideal for a developer who is skilled at troubleshooting, thrives on problem-solving, and takes ownership of delivering high-quality, user-friendly software. You’ll have mentorship from senior engineers while also driving your own projects and troubleshooting to ensure smooth, self-service customer experiences.

More about this opportunity:

As part of our development team, you’ll help design, build, and modernize the web-based tools and portals that make it easy for our GoEngineer customers to manage their accounts, access support, and interact with our services. You’ll work on real user-facing systems, but not on the name-brand software we resell.

GoEngineer is a provider of the most compelling design platforms in the industry, deploying engineering software and 3D printing technology to make the design process innovative, efficient, and intelligent.

Your key contributions in this role will be:

  • Contribute to the design and development of customer-facing applications using modern .NET technologies (.NET LTS, ASP.NET, EF Core, SQL).
  • Develop and maintain high-performance web applications with a focus on clean, maintainable, user-friendly code.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with a strong attention to detail and accountability for quality.
  • Migrate legacy ASP.NET MVC applications to modern Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Design and build secure, scalable RESTful APIs (OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT).
  • Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Bicep for efficient deployments.
  • Conduct testing and validation of your own work, ensuring smooth, self-service experiences for end users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Act as an escalation point for helpdesk support and resolving advanced issues.
  • Ensure software meets industry security and performance best practices.
  • Contribute to bug triaging and backlog discussions, helping the team prioritize and resolve issues efficiently.

_We are looking for candidates with the below experience and skills, however, even if you do not meet all the listed requirements, very interested candidates should still apply:

_

  • 3+ years of back-end development experience with C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, EF Core, and SQL.
  • 2+ years of front-end development experience using React or Angular.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests (MSTest, NUnit, xUnit).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to own the quality of your work.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities without losing focus or quality.
  • Integrity and self-awareness in how you use ai tools in your workflow and communication.
  • Interest in customer experience, even though you’re not directly customer-facing you should embody customer-centric views.
  • A growth mindset: eager to learn from mentors, while also taking initiative and pushing projects forward independently.
  • Comfort working in a Scrum-ish Agile team inside a broader Waterfall-style organization is ideal.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or 2–4 years of industry experience.
  • Familiarity with self-service or portal-style applications would be a bonus.
  • Previous experience with homegrown enterprise systems or platforms not required, but a plus.
  • More About Our Team:

We’re a high-trust, high-autonomy team of 11 that values camaraderie, performance, and craft. You won’t find internal competition or showboating here, just proactive people who take pride in their work and help each other get better and get the work done.

We offer real work-life balance and a collaborative team that cares about each other and the work at hand.

We’re thoughtful, honest, and forward-thinking in our approach, including our use of ai, and we’re looking for someone who shares that mindset.

Hours and Competitive Compensation Includes:

This is a salaried position with the benefits outlined below. We’re looking for the right fit, and we evaluate total compensation based on experience and skills alignment.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, this position can be done most remotely, but we are looking for someone that is based in the Salt Lake City, UT area and able to occasionally work out of our headquarters at our Midvale office.
