1.) Introduction

  • Job Title: Content Creator & Marketing Strategist
  • Work Hours/Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week), Eastern Time (EST/EDT) overlap required

2.) Overview

If you can tell a brand's story through video and back it up with real strategy, this one is for you.

This is a fast-growing, full-service events company based in the Washington DC area that has evolved from its catering roots into a full event coordination business, handling weddings, galas, corporate events, and destination events across the country. The team is scaling quickly and building stronger relationships with high-value clients, including corporate and government accounts, so long-term brand presence matters more than ever. The owner is hands-on and deeply involved in the brand's identity, and is looking for someone who can elevate how the company shows up online, not just maintain it.

This isn't a role where you wait for direction. You'll be trusted to develop the marketing strategy, shoot and edit the video content that brings it to life, and manage the social presence that turns followers into leads. If you love owning both the big picture and the hands-on execution, this is a seat built for you.

3.) Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns that align with company goals, identifying target segments such as high-value clients, corporate events, and government officials
  • Manage and optimize Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social platforms, curating portfolio style content that showcases weddings, galas, and corporate events
  • Edit and produce high-quality video content from raw footage, including promotional videos, event highlights, and behind-the-scenes footage, optimized for YouTube, Instagram, and other platforms
  • Plan content calendars, posting schedules, and manage SEO optimization for video content
  • Coordinate with internal departments to execute marketing initiatives, develop promotional materials, and set direction for the internal team's content needs
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns for events and services, tracking performance and ROI
  • Work directly with the owner to understand business goals, proactively bringing recommendations and solutions rather than waiting for direction
  • Reach out to micro-influencers and brand ambassadors to build collaborations that align with the brand

4.) Must-Have Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing experience with a proven track record of campaign success
  • Strong focus on YouTube video creation and editing, with real production chops, not just scheduling
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or equivalent
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to propose marketing initiatives and solutions rather than just execute
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with social media marketing and content strategy
  • A portfolio or examples of previous marketing work and video editing projects
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of marketing initiatives
  • Understanding of B2C marketing and brand positioning
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated remote workspace
  • Ability to generate leads through content and social channels

  • Experience in events, hospitality, or the luxury service industry
  • Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience with SEO optimization
  • Knowledge of Meta ads and LinkedIn advertising
