Senior Data Scientist - Remote - Full Time. Candidate needs to be in US to apply for this position and go through the Federal Background check.
We are looking for a Data Scientist with strong Business Intelligence, SQL, statistics, and Python knowledge who is eager to use their skills to rapidly turn data into insights. You'll have an opportunity to work on projects that support Federal Health Agencies as we develop next-generation analytics and reporting systems that directly impacts healthcare quality.
Responsibilities:
- Code and validate healthcare metrics in Databricks.
- Maintain data documentation and definitions.
- Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code.
- Provide clean, transformed data ready for analysis.
- Support critical BI dashboards with actionable data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with six years of relevant technical experience OR
- Masters degree with four years of relevant technical experience OR
- PhD with two years of relevant technical experience
- Experience working with medical claims data. Medicare Part A, B, and D claims experience would be ideal.
- Expert skills with SQL and basic statistics.
- Intermediate expertise in Python programming.
- Strong problem solving and structuring skills.
- Ability and desire to take ownership of and initiative for analysis, from requirements clarification to deliverables.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment effectively.
- Strong technical communication skills: both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and articulate the "big picture" and simplify complex ideas.
- Ability to identify and learn applicable new techniques independently as needed.
- Candidate must reside in the United States.
- Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of relational database and data warehousing concepts (e.g., OLAP, dimensional modeling)
- Experience with one or more BI tools, such as Superset, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Looker, etc.
- Prior experience working remotely full-time.
- Federal Government contracting work experience.
- Experience with CMS Quality Program measures (MIPS, HEDIS, etc.)
