Girl Guides of Canada is seeking an Email Marketing Communications Specialist (1-year Contract)

About This Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Brand & Marketing, the Email Marketing Communications Specialist plays a key role in developing compelling emails and email journeys, as part of a larger integrated strategy, to drive new member acquisition, member retention as well as ensuring current members and families are connected with Guiding initiatives throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Position specifics

  • Provide strategic counsel in the development of integrated email communications strategies for members, caregivers, volunteers and external audiences with a particular focus on member retention and new member acquisition
  • Develop end-to-end email campaigns, set triggered messages, manage list segmentation strategies, develop and execute automated journeys for lead generation.
  • Imagine, design and create compelling visuals and copy to engage target audiences with clear calls to action.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all email deployments, provide regular performance reporting and full campaign analysis, and make ongoing recommendations, including but not limited to, metrics analysis, A/B testing, enhanced use of graphics, updating templates and editorial goals, etc.
  • Capitalize on strong knowledge and understanding of GGC’s mission and programs to effectively communicate the organization’s value proposition to audiences.
  • Represent the email marketing position among cross-functional partnerships, presenting recommendations for program enhancements and new initiatives to meet goals.
  • Understand the needs of members, caregivers and volunteers to offer the clearest, most compelling messaging and ensure that the best communications channels are used.
  • Provide guidance to members, volunteers and staff on email communications best practices, GGC’s policies and guidelines related to communications and brand, and the use of GGC’s brand for communications purposes.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Marketing and Communications team and provincial volunteers to deliver world class products.
  • Apply organizational policies regarding diversity, equity and inclusivity to processes, communications and customer service, and industry best practices for accessibility standards (e.g., AODA)
  • Ensure all content, tone and voice in written communications clearly communicates and supports GGC’s strategy, vision and brand while showcasing the impact of our programming on girl and youth members.

General

  • Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Liaise with other departments as required.
  • Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the Mission and Vision of GGC.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

Education, Designations and Certifications

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.

Prior Work Experience

  • 5 years' experience working in communications, marketing or digital content development with a focus on email marketing, lead generation and/or automated journeys.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience with email marketing management platforms, Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and best practices for privacy and protecting personally identifiable information .
  • Skills in Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign – in a PC environment.
  • Experience with CRM/email platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to transform information into clear, engaging communication across various audiences.
  • Adaptable, flexible and diplomatic with a degree of comfort to change in projects and priorities.
  • Adept at working collaboratively across a range of teams, including the ability to work with colleagues in remote offices.
  • Excellent time management skills and can work independently, managing multiple projects with different stakeholders.

Hiring Range: $55,100.00 - $65,030.00
