Job Description

Location: Remote work arrangement with access to Toronto, Ontario

Girl Guides of Canada–Guides du Canada (GGC) is a national, membership-based organization that empowers every girl in Guiding to discover herself and be everything she wants to be. Guided by its mission to be a catalyst for girls empowering girls, GGC is building its vision of a better world, by girls.

GGC is seeking a strategic, creative, and collaborative Director, Brand & Marketing to elevate the profile of one of Canada’s most recognized legacy brands and help position the organization for continued growth and impact. Reporting to the Chief Brand and Business Development Officer, the Director leads the Brand & Marketing function, strengthening GGC’s presence across Canada, supporting its mission, and helping engage and serve more girls and youth.

The Director oversees brand management, integrated marketing, social media, digital communities, and creative services. The Director brings the organization’s story to life through clear, consistent, and engaging communications across audiences, channels, and member journeys. Working across the organization and with external partners, the Director oversees the planning, delivery, and evaluation of integrated marketing campaigns; guides social media and digital marketing strategies; and ensures a consistent brand voice and experience across all touchpoints. They provide creative and visual direction and strengthen the planning, collaboration, workflow management, and prioritization processes required to respond effectively to a high volume of organizational needs. Drawing on market research, organizational data, and audience insights, the Director helps inform brand, marketing, and broader organizational strategies.

As a people leader, the Director builds, develops, and coaches a high-performing Brand & Marketing team while managing external agencies and specialist partners. They oversee operational planning, budgets, performance measurement, and outcomes evaluation, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continually strengthens the function. At a time of continued organizational and digital evolution, the Director brings the clarity, resilience, and adaptability needed to establish scalable ways of working and translate strategy into coordinated execution across a complex organization.

As the ideal candidate, you are an accomplished brand and marketing leader with progressive experience developing and executing integrated strategies across multiple audiences and channels. You bring particular strength in brand leadership, storytelling, campaign development, multichannel marketing, social media, digital communities, and creative services, together with the ability to move comfortably between strategic positioning and practical execution. You are a big-picture thinker who understands how emotion, purpose, and community engagement can build affinity for a national brand. You are skilled at seeing the larger story, connecting disparate initiatives, and bringing them together through a coherent brand and marketing approach. Experience stewarding a legacy or national brand would be an asset, as would experience in a cause-marketing, membership-based, not-for-profit, association, consumer, or similarly purpose-driven environment.

A collaborative and credible relationship builder, you know how to cultivate alignment among colleagues, volunteers, community members, and external partners, and you have proven experience advising executives and senior management. You bring exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, sound analytical and project-management capabilities, and the judgment to prioritize effectively in a high-volume environment. Creative, resilient, adaptable, and willing to be hands-on when required, you are also a builder who can strengthen processes, systems, and ways of working while helping a team look to the broader opportunities of the brand.

Candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related discipline, with an advanced degree considered an asset. A diploma combined with relevant experience may also be considered.

If you are ready to shape the next chapter of an iconic Canadian brand and help more girls discover all they can be, we invite you to apply.
