Overview
Galsie is a smart home startup dedicated to streamlining the adoption & configuration of smart home systems through intuitive interfaces, data-driven suggestions, and adaptive assistance.
We're primarily a software company (with hardware as a secondary focus), building an integrated ecosystem of services and tools that work together to deliver a next-level smart home experience. Currently, we have two front-end interfaces:
- GalSite: Our main web presence - includes landing pages, product showcases, blogs, guides, support requests, content management systems, etc..
- GalApp: A Smart home mobile application for phones, tablets, and wearables - through which users can operate & configure one or more homes.
Position
We are currently looking for a product designer that can lead the UX/UI design of Galsie's responsive smart home cross-platform application (GalApp) & website (GalSite)
Responsibilities
- Study the existing system identity (colors, fonts, icons, logo, use of strokes & corner radii, UI designs, etc..), ensure consistency as it scales, and recommend changes based on best practices (accessibility, workflow, and otherwise)
- Create re-usable Figma components matching Galsie's guidelines & identity, using an atomic approach
- Contribute to the general architecture of a certain flow (eg. Flow for adding a Home), then produce designs for all screen sizes (mobile & tablet) -- matching our app identity.
- Ensure designs work on all screen sizes, while specifically catering for iPads & Tablets.
- Coordinate with app developers to ensure the designs can be conveniently ported in code.
- Manage interns & other designers
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in using Figma & auto-layout features.
- 6+ years of experience in UX/UI design.
- Expertise in building well-architected, scalable, and reusable components with Figma.
- Experience in standards of Color palettes, Fonts, and Icons.
- Well-versed in copyrighting
- Ability to navigate and contribute to a large set of continuously evolving designs.
Work Hours, Availability, and Compensation
- Position Type: Part-time
- Working Hours: 5 hours per weekday, 3 hours on Saturday
- Office Hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Beirut time)
- Work Hour Flexibility: Working hours must be completed within office hours
- Availability: Must be reachable and responsive during office hours to support team members
- Compensation: $400–$800 USD/month, based on experience and performance
