You’ll inherit some working systems, but your mandate is to elevate them into a best-in-class AI marketing machine. You’ll be the architect of that future.
Remote-first with local presence. This full-time role is primarily remote but requires periodic in-person collaboration or event attendance. Applicants must be located in the Fairfax or Northern Virginia region.
What You’ll Do
Build and Scale the AI Growth Engine
- Turn paid ads, SEO/GEO, and funnel operations into a predictable, automated system that links spend to enrollments.
- GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) - ensuring content is easily discoverable, trusted, and cited by AI systems
- Deploy AI tools (BeaconAI, AliceAI, HavenAI) into daily ops, so marketing becomes a growth engine, not a cost center.
Own and Optimize Growth Metrics
- Own Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), and Pipeline Velocity; your dashboards will be what the CEO and COO check weekly.
- Experiment, test, and scale campaigns that double revenue efficiently, without doubling spend.
Shape the Brand Narrative
- Position Fusion Cyber as the category leader in AI-Native workforce transformation.
- Create content strategies to drive engagement and conversion.
- Drive thought leadership across events, social channels, and partnerships.
- Create and monitor content for the company’s social media accounts.
Level Up Fast
- Work directly with the CEO (ex-2U, serial founder) and COO to learn how to run and scale a growth-state startup.
- Mentor interns or junior talent into a high-performing market pod.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, AI engineering, admissions, business development, and university partners to align campaigns with company goals.
Who You Are
- Ambitious: You’ve had real success (1-5 years) in demand gen, growth marketing, or marketing ops – maybe at a SaaS, edtech, or cyber-focused company – and you’re ready for the next level.
- AI-Curious and Data-Obsessed: You already experiment with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, or other models) and love attribution dashboards and CAC/LTV math.
- Builder Mentality: You’re excited to architect and optimize marketing platforms, not just operate and maintain existing ones.
- Strategic Communicator: You possess or are actively pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, or a related field and bring strong copywriting and messaging skills.
- Analytical and Performance-Driven: You can analyze data and metrics to refine campaigns and improve ROI.
- Organized and Accountable: Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the discipline to manage your timely and deliverables effectively in a remote environment.
- Community-Connected: Based in Fairfax/Northern Virginia, you thrive being plugged into the DC startup + DoD ecosystem, and can join periodic in-person events and collaboration sessions.
What Success Looks Like (12 Months)
- Enrollment pipeline doubles while CAC drops.
- At least 70% of campaign execution is AI-automated.
- Fusion Cyber is recognized for category-defining AI marketing in edtech/cyber.
- You go from Growth Marketing Lead to Head of Growth, having proven you can own the system.
