Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on Data Operations Engineer to support a life sciences digital transformation initiative by owning the operation and maintenance of a robust reporting pipeline built on Snowflake and Power BI. This role is perfect for someone who excels in maintaining stable data systems and enjoys cross-functional collaboration across technical and business teams.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Own and monitor the end-to-end Snowflake to Power BI reporting pipeline.
- Investigate and resolve pipeline failures promptly to maintain reliable reporting.
- Troubleshoot and correct broken metrics by validating SQL logic and clarifying definitions with business stakeholders.
- Work with internal CRM and data owners to diagnose and rsolve upstream data issues.
- Maintain and update SQL metric definitions in response to business logic changes.
- Ensure Power BI DAX calculations are consistent with Snowflake outputs and configuration tables.
- Collaborate with external consultants and internal business stakeholders to address edge cases, drive quality assurance, and implement improvements.
- Document all changes thoroughly and communicate potential risks and impacts clearly.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including stored procedures, access control, data loading, and transformation logic.
- 2+ years of experience with Power BI, with a strong focus on writing and debugging DAX queries and working with config-driven logic.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly and responsively with both developers and business leadership.
- Reliable and transparent working style, including proactive issue flagging, consistent documentation, and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with SQL Server and legacy SQL logic.
