Title: UI/UX Designer
Location: Remote
Initial term: 2-3 months
Schedule: 20 - 40 hours/week
Help Us Design a Clear, Powerful UI for a Complex Enterprise App
We're a startup in MVP mode—pre-funding, lean team, full of builders. We're not trying to grab eyeballs with reels or viral growth loops. Our users aren't scrolling—they're solving real problems, and they need tools that help them think clearly and move quickly.
We're building an enterprise-grade product with guided workflows, step-by-step configurations, and a fluid-themed layout. Think SAP, Oracle, or Salesforce, but usable. Our goal is clarity, precision, and usability in high-stakes, complex flows.
We're looking for a freelance UI/UX Designer with a strong creative eye and experience designing for enterprise software. You understand that good design isn't flashy—it's quiet, obvious, and durable.
Who You Are
You've designed and shipped complex, data-driven applications—ideally B2B SaaS or enterprise tools. Specifically:
- You've simplified intricate workflows into clean, usable screens for expert users
- You know how to design for clarity, speed, and scale, not just aesthetics
- You've built and maintained component-based design systems that map directly to frontend code
- You think in terms of user states, layout logic, and interactivity, not static screens
- You work fast, you think critically, and you take ownership of your work
YOUR TOOLBOX
We don't want a generalist—we're seeking someone who knows these tools well and can move fast within them:
Design & Prototyping (Required)
- Figma expert: Auto Layout, Component Variants, Design Tokens, Variables
- Know how to build nested, scalable component libraries in Figma
Design Systems & Dev Handoff (Required)
- Experience documenting components for Storybook-style integration
- Use Figma's Dev Mode to hand off developer-ready specs with precision
- You design with code in mind—we expect clean spacing, states, and logical structure
Styling Knowledge (Highly Desired)
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or utility-first styling principles
- Bonus: experience with Figma plugins that integrate Tailwind tokens or class generation
Animation & Collaboration
- Bonus: if you've worked with Framer Motion or designed with animation states in mind
- We use Slack for async comms and Loom for walkthroughs
- You'll work closely with our Next.js + TypeScript dev and the functional product team
What You'll Actually Do
- Work closely with the team to understand complex user flows like SAP configuration, dashboards, and data entry workflows
- Design guided, multi-step workflows that reduce user friction and prevent confusion
- Own the end-to-end UI design of our MVP, from low-fidelity flows to production-ready visuals
- Build reusable UI components in Figma that align with our React + Tailwind frontend
- Create layouts optimized for a dark theme, using card-based UI elements and real-world use constraints
- Deliver annotated, dev-ready Figma files with interaction notes, component naming, and state variations
- Work with the developer to ensure pixel-perfect implementation in Storybook
- Provide lightweight documentation for future maintainability of the design system
DELIVERABLES
- Component-based Figma designs that directly map to Tailwind-based code
- Guided workflows and UI layouts with step-level clarity
- Reusable components with states and interaction variants
- Style guide (tokens, spacing, typography, interaction patterns)
- Storybook-ready handoff: naming conventions, component structure, asset export
- Optional: basic animations or motion specs (if applicable)
WE'RE LOOKING FOR PROOF OF WORK
We Don't Just Want Pretty Portfolios. We Want To See How You Think And What Impact Your Designs Had. Please Include
- Case studies or walkthroughs of enterprise or complex apps you've designed
- Examples of design systems or component libraries you've created
- Screenshots, Looms, or links showing how your designs were implemented
- References or testimonials from past dev teams or product managers you've worked with
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE
- Experience designing dark-themed, data-dense dashboards
- Familiarity with AI-powered workflows, data visualizations, or backend-heavy apps
- Hands-on knowledge of HTML/CSS or experience working closely with React developers
- Previously worked with SAP, Salesforce, or other enterprise tools
- Contributed to a live component-based frontend system using Storybook or similar
WHY WORK WITH US?
Because you'll be designing the real product—not just mockups. You'll collaborate with a founder-led team that deeply respects good design, fast iteration, and developer-designer alignment. Your work will be implemented fast, tested fast, and seen by real users within weeks—not months.
In addition to resume, please apply with portfolio, specific project links, and references if available
