Description
Purpose of the Position: The DAS Design Manager will serve as the subject matter expert for the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) projects, responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of DAS initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of both the design and construction phases, along with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure delivery excellence. The DAS Design Manager will also provide technical guidance, attend site walks as needed, and act as the primary internal and external point of contact for DAS-specific execution.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the DAS subject matter expert for all internal stakeholders and clients.
- Direct and manage DAS project development from initiation through closeout.
- Collaborate closely with the Design and Construction teams to ensure proper technical execution and alignment with project goals.
- Participate in DAS site walks and provide real-time technical feedback and recommendations to support scope definition and construction feasibility.
- Effectively communicate DAS project expectations, milestones, and risks to team members and stake holders in a timely and clear manner.
- Set and continually manage expectations, deliverables, and timelines with internal teams and external partners.
- Manage all financial tasks related to DAS projects including purchase orders, invoicing, and change orders.
- Coordinate with design, construction, and Zoning & Permitting teams to ensure high-quality, compliant deliverables.
- Plan, schedule, and track DAS project milestones and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery.
- Follow company guidelines related to document control and file management.
- Interface with clients, vendors, and consultants via meetings, calls, and written correspondence.
- Manage multiple DAS programs or client accounts simultaneously, ensuring consistent service delivery.
- Oversee and procure services from third-party vendors when required for DAS engineering.
- Work with the Bid Manager and PMO to provide input on DAS bid requests and RFP responses, ensuring technical accuracy, scope clarity, and strategic positioning.
Knowledge, Skills, And Competencies Required
- Expertise in DAS Systems, design principles, and deployment standards (iDAS/oDAS)
- Understanding of related disciplines: architectural, civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical.
- Familiarity with construction processes and field deployment for wireless infrastructure.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills.
- Proven leadership and program management experience, especially in a wireless or telecom setting.
- CAD experience.
- Strong financial acumen with ability to manage project budgets, forecasting and invoicing.
- Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to excellence and ability uphold high standards under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Strong work ethic, proactive mindset, and eagerness to grow within the DAS and telecom space.
Education And Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5 - 10 years telecom experience preferred
- 3 - 5 years Program Manager Experience
- 1 - 3 years supervisor experience
- Expert level experience using Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook; Adobe Acrobat; CAD; and digital photographs
