Project Overview:
We’re leading a high-stakes, greenfield software rebuild for a confidential client’s Innovation Division. The product is designed to be the flagship platform, unveiled by the CEO live on stage later this year.
You’ll join a nimble team of engineers and security experts under our Director of Engineering (Matt) and partner closely with a UX designer and a seasoned Software Architect. This is zero-to-one work — fast-moving, full of autonomy, and the chance to build something the right way after 18 months of legacy missteps.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the frontend build of an internal IT management portal for edge devices (think: high-security, air-gapped environments)
- Translate mockups and user stories into polished, performant React components
- Build secure interfaces to manage users, devices, and biometric authentication (locally hosted Keycloak)
- Collaborate with backend and embedded teams across the full lifecycle
- Work independently and contribute clean, scalable code without handholding
Required Skills:
- 6+ years of experience with React and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and state management
- Experience with authentication systems (Keycloak preferred)
- Understanding of identity and access control concepts (IAM portals, OAuth2/OIDC)
- Familiarity with device management or IoT environments
- Ability to write clean, modular, reusable components (no spaghetti code)
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in air-gapped or high-security environments
- Background in biometrics, RFID/NFC, or device provisioning
- Exposure to WiFi security protocols
- Previous experience with secure, local-first admin portals
Soft Skills:
- Strong execution mindset – get in and ship real product
- Comfortable in ambiguity — can work without all the pieces in place
- Low-ego, high-output – we don’t need heroes, just doers
- Willing to help “pull a team out of a hole” and turn around a project
Interview Process:
- 90-minute technical interview with Fuel Talent’s Principal Engineer
- NDA
- 45-minute video with Fuel Talent’s Director of Engineering
