Embedded Solutions Architect (Embedded/Device/Edge)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Solutions Architect to lead the architectural redesign and development of a next-generation biometric device for enterprise security. This role is critical to delivering a cutting-edge, security-first solution that integrates biometrics, RFID, NFC, and cloud-managed device control.
You will be responsible for building the architecture, ensuring security compliance, and delivering a fully functional solution that meets strict enterprise security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & System Design:
- Redesign the existing embedded/hardware system architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Establish best practices for software development and system integration.
- Define and implement the app layer on ThreadX RTOS, ensuring smooth interaction with the edge node.
Firmware & Software Development:
- Experience in C-based applications on ThreadX RTOS.
- Implement secure device provisioning, firmware updates, and edge connectivity.
- Integrate NXP SE050 secure elements, ECC cryptographic support, and FIDO2 authentication.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement end-to-end encryption (TLS 1.3, Wi-Fi security, and device authentication).
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and HP’s requirements.
- Manage secure key provisioning and device authentication mechanisms.
eam & Delivery Management:
- Oversee architecture and development teams, collaborating with a wide array of internal and external colleagues
- Work closely with hardware ODMs, ensuring seamless hardware-software integration.
- Provide accurate time estimates and task completion dates for leadership
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in embedded systems architecture, firmware development, and security.
- Strong proficiency in C, embedded systems development, and ThreadX RTOS.
- Experience with hardware security elements (NXP SE050, TPM, Secure Enclave).
- Knowledge of FIDO2 authentication, biometric security, and RFID/NFC technologies.
- Strong cybersecurity proficiencies with proven expertise in TLS, encryption, and secure boot.
- Ability to architect, implement, and deliver mission-critical solutions under tight deadlines.
