Position to fill: Brand Manager-The Hair Edit

Reporting to: VP Brands and Innovation

Position Overview

As the Brand Manager for The Hair Edit, you play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our brand strategy. This role is instrumental in defining the brand’s voice, drive innovation, and enhancing market presence. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll oversee seamless brand integration across digital platforms and major retailers. This role includes leading marketing campaigns, managing product launches, and working with the innovation, creative, digital, social, influencer, PR, sales and operations teams to bring the brand to life. As the brand champion, you'll deeply understand our consumers, channels, and translate strategy into impactful marketing.

Key Accountabilities:

Brand Vision and Strategy:

  • Lead development of marketing plans from concept to execution with cross-functional teams
  • Align brand strategy with overall business goals while managing budgets effectively.
  • Identify growth opportunities and develop strategies for brand differentiation.
  • Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly
  • Analyze market and competitors; monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Develop and present internal strategies through the Marketing and Innovation Gate Process.

Brand Voice and Content:

  • Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice across all communication channels.
  • Work hand in hand with creative to orchestrate photoshoots and deliver assets on time for our sales channels as well as digital and e-com needs.
  • Ensure alignment with brand guidelines and messaging.

Omni-Channel Marketing Strategies:

  • Develop integrated marketing plans across consumer touchpoints, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms
  • Work closely with channel heads to align on brand initiatives.
  • Optimize customer touchpoints to enhance brand experience through the right campaigns and promotions.
  • Work hand in hand with team to develop merchandising for in-store secondary placements.
  • Lead and create brand and innovation presentation decks and manage samples for key retail partners line reviews.

Product Innovation:

  • Identify need gaps and opportunities and propose a strategic pipeline to drive brand’s growth in collaboration with the innovation manager.
  • Contribute to the product development process in collaboration with the innovation manager
  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch, partnering with innovation manager on line planning, positioning, naming and packaging,
  • Manage Product Innovation surveys to ensure decisions are data based
  • Develop and manage artworks for new products and packaging updates

Go-to-Market (GTM) and Integrated Monthly Marketing Calendar:

  • Lead activation meetings across cross-functional teams.
  • Develop GTM strategies for product launches and seasonal campaigns.
  • Participate in PR and Influencer strategy
  • Create and manage monthly marketing calendar with themes, promotions, and events.

Requirements:

Brand Manager Experience in the Beauty Industry

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent

Language Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively in English, in writing and orally. Ability to present information to customers and management.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint with advanced abilities in Excel, Internet software, BaseCamp; ability to navigate an AS400 ERP environment.

The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Logistics:

  1. Office hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Chicago/Mt. Prospect offices)
  2. Position is remote and eligible for flex hours
  3. Position is expected to travel a small percentage of the time, including occasional weekends and overseas travel
