The Senior Director of Strategic Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing FreshRealm’s marketing strategy across B2B and direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this role will lead strategic development, campaign execution, and brand consistency across multiple customer touchpoints. The ideal candidate brings marketing agency experience, with a track record of building scalable marketing programs for fast-growing brands. This individual will oversee the Director of Marketing and Director of Creative, providing leadership, direction, and alignment across the broader marketing function while driving measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Brand Execution
- Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to develop integrated marketing strategies that align with company goals and fuel growth across B2B and DTC channels.
- Translate strategic business objectives into actionable marketing plans that include customer segmentation, brand positioning, and market insights.
- Serve as a bridge between brand strategy and execution, ensuring consistent messaging, tone, and visual identity across all platforms and materials.
- Leverage agency experience to manage internal and external partners, driving alignment, creativity, and execution across campaigns and communications.
- Partner with sales, business development, and product teams to inform go-to-market approaches, packaging, messaging, and brand storytelling.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Directly manage the Director of Marketing and Director of Creative, ensuring both teams are aligned with broader marketing strategy and priorities.
- Provide coaching, professional development, and performance management to build a high-performing, collaborative marketing function.
- Foster cross-functional integration across marketing, sales, creative, and product teams to ensure seamless execution and shared accountability.
Campaigns, Content & Email Marketing
- Lead the development and execution of content marketing strategies, including email campaigns, customer nurture journeys, whitepapers, case studies, and thought leadership.
- Oversee the creation of compelling marketing collateral to support revenue teams, from pitch decks to sell sheets and digital toolkits.
- Build and manage content calendars across channels to ensure consistency and timely execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align messaging across web, email, social, and paid media.
Creative Team Oversight
- Guide the creative direction and priorities in partnership with the Director of Creative, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality execution.
- Develop scalable processes to empower other departments with flexible creative assets while maintaining brand integrity.
- Support the development of consumer- and customer-facing visuals and storytelling that elevate brand perception and drive engagement.
Process & Performance Management
- Help professionalize and scale the marketing function through standardized processes, project management systems, and clear documentation.
- Define and report on marketing KPIs tied to brand visibility, lead generation, and campaign performance.
- Ensure accountability and cross-functional alignment on all initiatives, delivering projects on time and within budget.
Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience in B2B and DTC marketing, both in-house and within an agency environment.
- Strong background in strategic marketing, performance marketing, content development, email campaign design, and creative team leadership.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing marketing and creative teams.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to synthesize complex strategies into clear, actionable deliverables.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
- Google Analytics Certified
- Google Analytics Certified in UX Content Writing
- Google Training Completion in Performance Max strategy
- Google Training Completion in Paid Search
- Certifications in SEO, content strategy, content management, & email marketing
- Training and/or Certifications in B2B, B2C, & DTC marketing strategy
- Working knowledge of LookerStudio or other data analytics online tool for converting data into customizable, informative reports and dashboards
- Working knowledge of SEMRush
Experience & Education
- 7+ years of marketing experience, primarily within an agency supporting high-growth B2B and DTC brands.
- 5+ years of people management experience, including direct oversight of marketing and/or creative leadership roles.
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, product, creative, and analytics teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent strategic experience preferred.
