Who We Are
We are FRDM (pronounced free
- dom), an enterprise SaaS company on a mission to transform how businesses monitor and mitigate social and environmental risks in their global supply chains. Our platform leverages big data, AI, and machine learning—including large language models (LLMs)—to help companies identify and address modern-day slavery, child labor, and other critical issues.
We are looking for a versatile Full-Stack Software Engineer with AI engineering experience, particularly in LLM integration and ethical AI development, to join our team. In this role, you’ll help design and implement scalable systems, build intelligent data pipelines, and deploy LLMs to support our next generation of supply chain intelligence tools. You’ll collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and domain experts to deliver AI-driven features that support responsible, transparent business practices.
If you’re passionate about full-stack development, AI integration, and ethical innovation, we’d love to meet you.
Essential Functions
- Build full-stack applications that integrate traditional and AI-driven services, including LLM-based features for analysis, automation, and user interaction
- Design and deploy scalable data pipelines that process, transform, and enrich supply chain data for use in predictive modeling and compliance workflows
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs that power our applications and support external integrations
- Collaborate with AI and data teams to build, deploy, and monitor LLM applications using services like OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, or AWS Bedrock
- Implement responsible and secure usage of AI models, with a focus on mitigating bias, ensuring transparency, and aligning with FRDM’s ethical standards
- Work with unstructured and structured data sources, including web scraping, document parsing, and API consumption
- Build responsive and accessible frontends using modern frameworks (e.g., React)
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security across the stack
- Contribute to peer code reviews and mentor junior developers
Technical Proficiencies
- Strong frontend development in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks (React preferred)
- Backend experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, or Golang
- Proficiency in building and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party services
- Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Hugging Face) into user-facing features or backend automation
- Understanding of LLM prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS)
- Skilled in designing and managing scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows using tools like Airflow, Dagster, or custom scripts
- Experience with structured (SQL) and unstructured data; ability to build feature stores or datasets for ML training
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience deploying AI models in production, monitoring output, and managing model drift
- Knowledge of responsible AI principles, model evaluation, explainability tools, and ethical considerations in algorithmic systems
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: 4+ years of full-stack development; 1+ years of hands-on experience working with LLMs or AI systems in production.
To Be Successful
- You’re a builder who is excited by AI and knows how to use it responsibly
- You thrive at the intersection of engineering and data science
- You believe AI should serve people and advance human rights, not undermine them
- You’re comfortable owning systems end-to-end, from frontend design to backend and model deployment
- You communicate clearly, collaborate openly, and stay curious
