Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Turbines

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to be responsible for the design of hydro turbine mechanical components for installed-based projects. The role also involves providing technical support for the supply chain and site activities related to hydro turbines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver work packages for installed-based projects following technical guidelines and feedback of experience (FOE).
• Develop mechanical designs for new hydro turbine components (runners, distributors, wicket gates, servomotors, bearings, and shaft seals).
• Conduct mechanical engineering analyses and oversee refurbishment procedures for turbine components.
• Collaborate with global engineering Centers of Excellence (COEs).
• Lead and participate in design review meetings with other COEs and consulting engineers.
• Supervise design engineers and draftsmen, ensuring accurate calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs.
• Manage purchase requests for the supply chain.
• Ensure compliance with reliability, quality, safety, and cost standards.
• Support project engineering managers in project execution.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in strength of materials.
• Solid knowledge of non-destructive examination methods, materials, and welding.
• At least 6 years of experience in turbine mechanical design.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
