Lead Analytics and Reporting Software Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Design and build an end-to-end data pipeline framework: ingest → transform → shape → deliver
- Develop a no/low-code GUI to empower customers with self-service analytics
- Architect and embed advanced business intelligence capabilities directly into the platform
- Define and drive the technical roadmap based on business and customer needs
- Champion simplicity, scalability, and performance
- Bridge technical and product perspectives with a deep understanding of end-user needs
- Drive data democratization: empower users with self-service insights, not engineering bottlenecks
- Lead system design decisions: pipelines, orchestration, data models, and interfaces
- Build flexible, future-ready architectures that can scale with evolving use cases
- Prioritize elegant, maintainable solutions over short-term hacks
- Bring technical taste to every decision—know when something is “right,” not just functional
- Break down high-level strategy into tactical sprints and deliverables
- Own production reliability, observability, and incident response
- Build and lead a high-trust, high-performance team culture
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience building software, with 3+ leading teams delivering data-intensive platforms
- Expert in Python (ETL pipelines, data validation, multi-format processing) with potential migration to a high-performance language like Golang
- Expert JavaScript, TypeScript, TSX
- Full-stack capable: strong front-end experience in JS/TS/TSX
- Deep understanding of scalable data architecture: NoSQL, columnar DBs, Lakehouse patterns
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Superset, Metabase) and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Prefect, Dagster, Flyte)
Preferred Skills:
- Built or contributed to no/low-code data platforms
- Products involving automation, AI, or compounding customer value
- Familiarity with high-performance systems and Lakehouse architectures
- Transitioning from solo engineer to technical team leader
