Summary**

As a SQL Developer at Focus, you’ll play a key role in supporting our data conversion and integration efforts. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team to translate client needs into clean, accurate, and efficient SQL processes that help healthcare organizations transition smoothly to new systems.

This role requires managing multiple active projects, adapting to shifting priorities, and applying thoughtful problem-solving to deliver high-quality results on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage and prioritize multiple active data conversion projects while meeting established deadlines
Translate data mapping documents and client requirements into well-structured SQL logic
Develop, test, and optimize SQL scripts, stored procedures, and views
Troubleshoot issues, escalate blockers when needed, and support collaborative problem-solving
Document your work for transparency, reusability, and team knowledge-sharing
Foster a team-oriented environment rooted in accountability, trust, and clear communication

Technical Skills and Tools

SQL Server, including advanced SQL development (beyond basic querying)
Git-based source control (Azure DevOps is a plus)
Azure Data Studio and/or Visual Studio Code
Microsoft Excel (comfortable with lookups, formulas, and data organization)

Qualifications and Experience

3–5 years of hands-on SQL programming experience
Experience working with EHR/EMR systems like Allscripts, Cerner, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, or similar
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Flexibility to adjust to evolving project needs and timelines
A collaborative, team-focused mindset and strong communication skills
- Bonus Points For:
  - Experience with Azure SQL or other cloud-based database environments
  - Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell or Python)
  - Previous experience in healthcare data conversions or managed service environments
