Role Overview:

We are looking for a Software Engineer II who is passionate about building products for the gaming ecosystem. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to design and develop core systems that power our platforms, experiences, and internal tools. This role is ideal for someone who loves games and gaming culture, has strong fundamentals, and enjoys solving complex technical problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend and/or client-side systems.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and other engineers to deliver scalable game experiences and platform features.
• Build APIs, services, and infrastructure to support real-time multiplayer, content delivery, and creator tools.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Research and evaluate new technologies that can enhance our products and development process.
• Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript, Python, C#, C++, or Go.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, networking, concurrency).
• Interest in gaming, UGC platforms, or interactive digital experiences.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first environment.

Bonus Points:

• Experience building multiplayer systems, game servers, or real-time networking.
• Familiarity with game engines (Unity, Unreal, Roblox Studio, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with game analytics, live ops, or player engagement systems.
• Experience working with UGC platforms or creator economy products.
• Contributions to open source projects, game mods, or personal gaming projects.
