Flatiron School is seeking a part-time, fixed-term instructor to support learners through a three-week, project-based module. In this role, you'll provide structured daily support, facilitate live check-ins, and guide students through project work and technical challenges. This is a high-touch, time-bound opportunity to directly impact learner success in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.
The ideal candidate is an educator with experience teaching in a technical bootcamp setting who enjoys mentoring, troubleshooting, and helping learners make real progress in a short amount of time. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and energized by creating a supportive and responsive learning environment.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 10:00-11:30am ET and 3:00-4:30pm ET
- 3 hours/day, 15 hours/week for 3 weeks
- Term is 5/12/25 - 5/30/25
Daily Responsibilities
- 30-minute daily standup with learners (focusing on project setup in Week 1)
- Two 30-minute learner check-ins to assess progress, answer questions, and offer feedback
- 90-minute sync session for live video support—troubleshooting issues, reviewing projects, or conducting demos
Experience**:**
- Experience teaching or mentoring in a technical, design, or project-based field
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback
- Comfortable using video conferencing and collaboration tools in a remote setting
- Empathy and adaptability when working with diverse learners
- Prior experience in a bootcamp environment and familiarity with project-based learning preferred
Qualifications:
Must meet at least one of the below requirements:
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in discipline AND minimum 2 years of full-time (or equivalent) in-field work experience
- Any higher education degree in any field AND minimum 5 years of full-time (or equivalent) in-field work experience
- Any higher education degree in any field AND a non-degree certificate in discipline from an accredited or DPOS approved school AND minimum 2 years of full-time (or equivalent) in-field work experience
- A High School Diploma AND 7 years of full-time (or equivalent) in-field work experience
- Any part time experience will be counted as half-time for experience requirements. (For example, 4 years of part-time experience = 2 years full-time experience).

Licensing:
- All Instructors/Faculty Managers will be required to maintain licensure in required states per compliance standards.
- Minimum experience requirements are set by state regulators where Flatiron School operates and are not negotiable. Due to state licensure requirements, all claimed education and experience will need official documentation, such as official transcripts or letters of verification from previous employers.
- Instructors may be asked to disclose criminal history and provide court documents per state regulator licensing requirements.
Expected Compensation:
- $46/hour (15 hours/week for 3 weeks)
- Total compensation for 3 weeks is $2,070.00
