About FIXD

FIXD was founded in 2014 by three Georgia Tech grads on a mission to simplify car care. What started as a passion project to bring more transparency and peace of mind to drivers has grown into a profitable, bootstrapped business. Our flagship product—a compact OBD2 sensor paired with an easy-to-use app—has helped over 4 million drivers better understand and manage their vehicle maintenance.

With more than a decade in business, FIXD continues to thrive without outside funding, driven by a lean team and a strong focus on customer value. As we expand our product offerings and brand reach, we're looking for smart, curious, and mission-aligned teammates to help us shape the future of car care.

The Opportunity

As our Marketing Director, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our marketing efforts and empowering our team to achieve ambitious goals. This is a critical leadership role that combines strategic vision with hands-on operational excellence. You need to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment and adjust strategies based on market dynamics and performance data.

You'll lead and mentor a talented team, streamlining workflows and removing obstacles, ensuring everyone can focus on high-impact work. Fostering an environment of valuable growth and professional development will be key to your success and the team's.

What You’ll Be Doing

A significant part of your role will involve driving marketing strategy and performance. You'll regularly review and report on our marketing performance across various channels, regions, and concepts, setting clear, measurable goals for the team. You’ll maintain consistent communication to ensure we're always on track to meet these objectives. You'll also have a hand in testing new concepts—from top-of-funnel video/image ads and landing pages to email and beyond—and lead the Marketing team through high-impact new initiatives like international expansion and new product launches. You’ll also be responsible for testing and implementing new channels. While you won't always be an individual contributor, you'll maintain a deep understanding of ongoing projects, their strategic role, and their performance.

You'll also be responsible for project and process management within the marketing team. This includes standardizing our project management tools and practices, meticulously scoping and documenting projects, defining success metrics, and delegating tasks effectively. You’ll facilitate efficient communication within the team and implement standard processes to enhance performance, troubleshooting any issues that arise. Ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned will be paramount, often involving coordinating meetings, sharing updates, and clarifying roles or next steps.

Cross-functional communication will be another vital aspect of your role. You'll act as a bridge between marketing, engineering, product, and executive teams, translating needs and updates across disciplines and confirming alignment on shared goals, timelines, and deliverables. You’ll be the face of Marketing within the company, and need to be able to speak enough of everyone’s language.

Finally, you'll manage external partnerships with key revenue partners like affiliate networks and ad buying agencies. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for implementation, contracting/negotiation, troubleshooting, and performance, ensuring these collaborations are successful and contribute to our overall marketing objectives.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in ecommerce or consumer marketing roles, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership or director-level position managing a marketing team.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that have significantly contributed to business growth and market share expansion.
  • Proven expertise in digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, paid media (e.g. Facebook ads and Google ads), email marketing, social media, and content marketing.
  • Track record of managing significant marketing budgets and demonstrating strong ROI.
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership & team management. Can inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, clarify roles, and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, draw insights, and make informed strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Proficient with marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM, attribution platforms).
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills, including scoping, planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Showcases superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships across all levels of the organization (marketing, product, engineering, executive) and external partners.
  • Maintains meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reporting, campaign execution, and project oversight.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with international expansion and launching products in new markets.
  • Experience managing and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Monday.com, Jira, Asana) for marketing initiatives.
