About First Due
At First Due, we’re redefining public safety software by delivering an end-to-end solution for fire and emergency services. From pre-incident planning and inspections to response and post-incident reporting, we build tools that empower agencies to better protect their communities. Our team is driven by empathy, innovation, and a deep respect for first responders.
The Role
We’re looking for a Product Designer who’s passionate about creating intuitive, human-centered design solutions in a complex, high-impact domain. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product Managers, engineers, and key stakeholders to design features that meet user needs while aligning with product and business goals.
What You’ll Do
• Design end-to-end experiences across web and mobile platforms, from early discovery through to polished UI.
• Collaborate closely with PMs and stakeholders to define problem spaces, user journeys, and solution approaches.
• Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma.
• Contribute to and evolve our Design System, ensuring scalability and consistency across all products.
• Apply User-Centered Design, Atomic Design, and Design Thinking methodologies to every stage of the product lifecycle.
• Use data, user feedback, and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions.
• Present and communicate your design work clearly to internal teams and non-design stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in a product-led SaaS company.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, prototyping, and component management.
• Deep understanding of Design Systems and scalable component-based design.
• Strong grasp of user-centered and iterative design methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to articulate design decisions and rationale effectively.
• Fluent in technical English, with the ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional environment.
Nice to Have
• Experience designing for public safety, enterprise tools, or complex B2B systems.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Exposure to frontend implementation or developer handoff processes.
