Senior Software Engineer

(US)-Remote

Overview

Client is a leading solutions and analytics company that leverages unparalleled clinical and financial datasets to deliver deep insight into the performance of the healthcare system. These insights uncover new opportunities for healthcare organizations to collaborate to improve their financial performance, reduce inefficiency, and improve healthcare quality.

The Sr Software Engineer is primarily responsible for the support of the existing software applications and enhanced software components deployed in the Client product suite. You will be expected to implement functionality changes and defect fixes that support onboarding of new clients and quick resolution of production issues. Working in a fast-paced environment, where the collective team emphasis is to generate market-driven solutions that work, you are expected to foster high performing technical teams: communicating effectively, sharing knowledge, supporting teammates, and building a high-performing team culture while so doing. You will be required to collaborate effectively with external client team members, senior developers, enterprise technology teams, offshore development team members, business owners, project management, and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance high quality software modules for the Cotiviti product suite.
  • Analyze and resolve software related issues originating from internal or external customers.
  • Document the specifications, design, features, and operation of applications prior to production roll out.
  • Demonstrate proficient working knowledge of primary discipline and developing knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Execute solutions enhancements to improve performance / availability.
  • Communicate technical and operational issues to both engineering and business leadership in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all technology standards are adhered to while developing systems.
  • Explore new ideas and make innovative contributions to existing processes or systems which improve efficiency and results.
  • Continuously improve and enhance knowledge of new technologies as selected and integrated into the Cotiviti product suite.
  • Execute all appropriate facets of the Cotiviti Software Development Lifecycle with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor other developers.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual Performance Plan.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-9 years of industry experience.
  • Experience & expertise in resolving issues in production, and client-facing, environments.
  • Must have 2+ years’ Healthcare data experience.
  • 5-9 years' experience with relational databases.
  • 4+ years’ experience in development with Oracle and SQL programming.
  • Optimization and tuning of SQL / Oracle queries.
  • Experience with Git and Jenkins a plus; code versioning / repositories a must.
  • Advanced understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.
  • 5-9 years' experience with Java frameworks.
  • Understanding of prevalent Software / Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies; specific participation in Agile Scrum techniques preferred.
  • Knowledge of one or more enterprise scheduling tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • A strong sense of character manifesting integrity and humility.

  • Attention to Detail: must have a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.

  • Data Interpretation: skilled in interpreting data visualizations, charts, graphs, and other forms of data presentation to extract meaningful insights and communicate findings effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are crucial for conveying complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders clearly and understandably through written reports, presentations, and verbal discussions.
  • Curiosity and Learning Agility: A strong desire to learn and explore new methodologies, techniques, and tools in the field of data analysis and insights generation is essential for staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Resilience: The ability to handle pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and overcome setbacks is important in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous analytical environment.
  • Ethical and Integrity: Upholding ethical standards and maintaining integrity in handling sensitive data and information is paramount for building trust and credibility in the insights provided.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
