About The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer at bet365, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining real-time, event-based systems that support our dynamic betting platform. You will join the Offers team, where your primary focus will be to empower the business by enabling quick and seamless creation of new bonus mechanics without relying heavily on technical teams. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a full-stack team, engaging with cutting-edge technologies to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.

You will gain experience working with open-source technologies, deploying systems to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and contributing to innovative software solutions that enhance our customer experience. The role is fast-paced, challenging, and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, quality, and delivery. This position is eligible for our hybrid working policy, allowing flexibility between remote work and office presence.

The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 - $155,000, reflecting the level of expertise and experience required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading development teams and successfully delivering complex technical projects.
• Passion for coaching and mentoring developers to foster growth and knowledge sharing.
• Ability to prioritize people over process, demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
• Proven problem-solving skills within fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Commercial experience working with Cloud Platforms, especially GCP.
• Proficiency with React and Typescript for front-end development.
• Hands-on experience with Golang microservices architecture.
• Exposure to C#, .NET, MSSQL, or WPF is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as an escalation point for the team, providing guidance both during and outside of office hours.
• Lead the design and development of scalable, maintainable, and high-quality systems aligned with business needs.
• Apply active governance around solution design to ensure consistency and best practices.
• Set and uphold standards for code quality, testing, and delivery to ensure reliability and performance.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet business objectives.
• Take ownership of technical solutions from development through to deployment and live operation.
• Estimate work effort accurately and produce comprehensive solution documentation.
• Distribute knowledge within the team, mentor junior developers, and foster a collaborative environment.
