Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Overview

We are looking for a software engineer to own our development ecosystem. You'll be responsible for making our engineering team outrageously productive by eliminating friction throughout the development lifecycle. You'll tackle devx issues across our diverse technical landscape — including our two monorepos, four backends (each written in a different language), and NextJS app that powers our customers’ docs. If you're passionate about developer productivity, enjoy diving into complex systems, and have a knack for simplifying complicated workflows, we want you on our team.

What You’ll Do

• Make local development delightful. You'll create seamless setup processes, fast build systems, and well-configured tooling that lets our engineers (and open-source contributors) focus on writing code instead of fighting their environment. This is about crafting development experiences that engineers trust and love.
• Evolve our CI systems. You'll own the transformation of our continuous integration, making our CI checks exhaustive, fast, and flake-free. You'll push the boundaries of what automated testing and validation can offer to keep our development velocity high.
• Maintain and improve our infrastructure-as-code. You'll work with CDK for our AWS deployments and our CD pipelines, ensuring our infrastructure scales reliably and efficiently as we grow.
• Design and implement monitoring, observability, and alerting. You'll build comprehensive visibility across our stack, creating the systems that help our team quickly identify and resolve issues before they impact our users.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of professional software development
• Significant experience with TypeScript
• A passion for building for other developers
• An ability to prioritize and own decisions across our development ecosystem. We have ideas of what you’ll work on, but ultimately, you will decide what you do and how
• (Bonus) You've worked in a high-growth SaaS company
• (Bonus) Experience working with the OpenAPI specification, Conjure (Palantir), or Smithy (AWS)

Compensation Range: $170K - $230K
