Job Title: Lead Developer
Location: Atlanta area or Remote
Pay Rate: $100k - $110K (There isn’t any bonus with it, but they get medical and dental and
vision insurance, 401k etc)
Job Summary
Our client provides innovative solutions for the railroad industry, focusing on asset
management and helping customers meet regulatory compliance requirements. We are
seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Developer to act as a “player/coach” to lead and
inspire our development teams and develop alongside the team. The ideal candidate will
excel at aligning software development initiatives with divisional goals, effectively managing
resources, and maintaining a strong focus on financial performance and operational
excellence. Responsibilities
• Deliver quality code that meets reasonable sprint and development objectives, carefully
considering acceptance criteria and producing deliverables that rarely require extensive
revisions during code reviews.
• Thoughtfully build and maintain the product roadmap to represent divisional goals and
priorities.
• Regularly communicate the product roadmap and progress updates to internal and
external stakeholders.
• Determine the requirements (technical, cost, etc..) to bring a product concept to reality
• Effectively manage and allocate resources within the development team to meet project
goals and deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of software development
efforts with organizational objectives.
• Maintain a deep understanding of departmental financials, including budgeting,
forecasting, and performance ratios.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous
improvement and ensure team success.
• Foster a culture of innovation, quality, and accountability within the development team.
• Oversee the development and implementation of best practices, coding standards, and
operational processes.
• Serve as a mentor and coach to development team leads, supporting their professional
growth and leadership capabilities.
• Assist with administering corporate technology policy
• Provide executive management with detailed project plans and project deliverables
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, including 3+ years in a
leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to build and execute product roadmaps aligned with organizational
goals.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas to
diverse audiences.
• Proven experience in resource management and team leadership within a software
development environment.
• Deep financial acumen with experience in managing departmental budgets and
analyzing performance metrics.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience driving Agile processes within a
development team.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a strategic mindset.
• Expertise of development languages including PHP, JavaScript, Java
• Expertise of both relational databases with MySQL and other data storage systems •
Experience in the railroad industry a plus
