About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Google Apps Script Developer with hands-on experience across data ecosystems. As a Google Apps Script Developer, you’ll take ownership of developing and maintaining custom scripts and add-ons that extend the capabilities of Google Workspace. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and build tools that streamline daily tasks and data flows. You will also support integrations between Google services and third-party platforms using APIs.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by automating repetitive processes, building internal applications, and delivering smarter workflows that improve business productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

1.Development & Deployment

  • Develop, test, and deploy Google Apps Script-based solutions across Gmail, Google Sheets, Docs, Calendar, Forms, and Drive.

  • Build and maintain Google Workspace Add-ons, custom menus, sidebars, and web apps that enhance the user experience.

  • Maintain and refactor legacy scripts, improving performance, error handling, and code structure.

2. Workflow Automation

  • Automate routine tasks such as data collection, email alerts, report generation, document creation, and scheduling.

  • Set up time-based, form-submit, and on-edit triggers to automate business logic.

  • Design and implement Apps Script projects that integrate with third-party APIs.

3. Collaboration & Requirements Gathering

  • Work with teams to gather requirements, analyze workflow challenges, and propose automation strategies.

4. Support & Documentation

  • Provide technical support, documentation, and training to users and stakeholders.

5. Security & Compliance

  • Ensure that security and data privacy practices are adhered to in all scripts and integrations.

6.Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience with Google Apps Script and automation within the Google Workspace environment. .
  • Strong JavaScript programming skills (including ES6+ features).
  • Proficient in working with Google Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Forms programmatically.
  • Ability to build custom UI components (HTML/HTML Service) within Google Workspace.
  • Experience working with Google Apps Script triggers (simple and installable).
  • Skilled in integrating REST APIs and using authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0.
  • Ability to understand business needs and translate them into functional automation tools.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing Google Workspace Add-ons or web apps hosted on Apps Script.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Firebase, Cloud Functions, App Script deployments).
  • Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
  • Experience with no-code/low-code platforms (Zapier, Make, Airtable) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Google Admin Console and Workspace Admin APIs is a bonus.
