This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Expert Software Engineer (Backend) in the United States.

The Expert Software Engineer (Backend) will take a leading role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems. This position involves architecting complex service-oriented applications, optimizing workflows, and ensuring robust, secure, and maintainable code. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and UX designers, to deliver innovative solutions that directly impact customers and end-users. The role requires technical leadership, a deep understanding of backend technologies, and experience in cloud-based architectures. You will help guide teams through the software development lifecycle, mentor peers, and ensure high-quality delivery across multiple projects. This position offers the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems in a dynamic, supportive, and growth-oriented environment.

Accountabilities

  • Architect and lead development of backend solutions that are secure, performant, and scalable.
  • Design and implement WebApi and WCF services for business logic, data storage access, and messaging interactions via REST and SOAP.
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code, including unit and functional tests.
  • Develop and optimize SQL Server database schemas and stored procedures.
  • Collaborate with teams to define, estimate, and track work, occasionally serving as scrum master.
  • Identify, measure, and resolve performance and security issues across backend services.
  • Review code, provide feedback, and evangelize best practices for development and team processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in C#/.NET development.
  • 3+ years of experience with .NET WebApi, WCF, REST, relational database development, version control, continuous integration, and agile leadership.
  • Experience designing solutions using architectural patterns such as caching, type-ahead, retry policies, and queuing.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud development (AWS, Azure), document storage technologies (AWS S3, MongoDB), or messaging systems (AWS SQS, ActiveMQ).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor team members and collaborate effectively across multifunctional teams.
