As a Data Scientist with Excel Nearshore on our team you will help build GenAI services and infrastructure to accelerate design of our client's brand. The systems you build will connect the client's designers to emerging trend data, empowering them to explore, analyze and act upon emerging trends quickly and accurately. This is a full-time and fully remote position, on payroll with full benefits.
Experience working with developers as part of a cross-functional delivery team is a must in this role. You should have experience shipping code in Python, participating in code reviews, and working directly with developers. While this role includes analysis and research components, it is not an analyst or researcher role.
About you:
- Bachelor’s/MS/PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Physics, Computer Science or related fields.
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience as a developer, researcher or data scientist.
- Must include experience working cross-functionally to deliver and maintain production systems.
- Experience with GenAI, LLMs, prompt strategies and LLM evaluation techniques
- Especially and in particular multi-modal RAG (nice-to-have)
- Expertise in Python
- Familiarity with common ML and GenAI libraries.
- Expertise in traditional image processing techniques.
- Experience processing/parsing/analyzing/indexing complex documents.
- Strong foundation in mathematical and statistical underpinnings of machine learning including supervised and unsupervised methods and their applications.
- Especially working with these technologies in a business context.
- Proven willingness and ability to collaborate across teams in a complex business domain.
- Experience with standard industry software development practices
- Basic process knowledge (Agile, etc.)
- SDLC fundamentals (source control, CI/CD, etc.)
