Description

As a Backend Developer at Exactius, you will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems to power our data-driven marketing solutions. You will design and maintain APIs, orchestrate services and integrations, and contribute to the performance and reliability of our infrastructure. Working alongside data engineers, analysts, and product teams, you will turn business logic into robust systems that deliver real-time value.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for internal and external services.
• Build scalable microservices to support data pipelines, automation, and marketing technologies.
• Integrate with third-party APIs (e.g., data warehouses, CRMs, ad platforms, and analytics tools).
• Optimize system performance, latency, resilience, and error handling.
• Ensure high code quality with unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems with proper logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Work on CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud deployments.
• Apply API design best practices (OpenAPI/Swagger, versioning, documentation).
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, tracking analysts, and data analysts in a cross-functional team.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture discussions. Share technical vision and proactively implement coding best practices to elevate code quality, maintainability, and team standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in backend development using Python.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, microservices, multithreading, and asynchronous processing.
• Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, schema design, and caching.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and deployment to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
• Proficient in automated testing (unit/integration) and working in TDD or CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of security best practices for backend and API development.
• Familiar with API documentation standards and tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of advertising APIs (e.g., Facebook Ads, Google Ads).
• Experience in the data field or working closely with data engineering teams.
• Familiarity with serverless or container orchestration platforms (e.g., Cloud Run, Kubernetes).
• Experience contributing to or leading backend architecture decisions and roadmap.
