Job Description
The Senior Product Designer is responsible for designing intuitive and engaging user experiences for web and mobile applications. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to create user-centered designs that meet business objectives and user needs. The ideal candidate has a strong background in user experience (UX) design, user interface (UI) design, and visual design, with a deep understanding of design principles and best practices. They hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field and have at least eight years of experience in product design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver innovative, user-centered design solutions by understanding business requirements, user needs, and technical constraints.
- Design user interfaces and create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes using design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or InVision.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and user feedback sessions to validate design decisions and iterate on designs based on insights gathered.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into product development.
- Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides, design systems, and component libraries, to ensure consistency across all products and platforms.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the fields of UX/UI design, web design, and mobile design.
- Present and communicate design ideas, concepts, and solutions to stakeholders and team members, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Mentor and support junior designers, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow and develop their skills.
- Participate in design reviews and critiques, providing constructive feedback to improve overall design quality.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in product design, including UX/UI design and visual design.
- Project Management: Experience with agile project management and workflow tools such as Jira, Asana, Trello, or similar.
Competencies:
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Figma. Experience with prototyping tools and techniques. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
- Design Principles: Deep understanding of UX/UI design principles, best practices, and current trends. Knowledge of responsive design, mobile-first design, and accessibility standards.
- User Research: Experience conducting user research and usability testing, with the ability to synthesize insights and translate them into actionable design improvements.
- Collaboration: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly present and articulate design concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
