Position Description:

The Director of Marketing leads Evergreen’s Client Services Marketing Team in delivering innovative, high-impact strategies that support energy utility clients’ customer-facing initiatives. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution-overseeing integrated campaigns that span digital, print, web, social media, online learning, and public relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, and mentor Evergreen’s Marketing Team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture. As a member of Evergreen’s leadership team, develop trusted relationships that foster the achievement of company priorities.
  • Maintain high-level client relationships related to marketing, in coordination with other Evergreen managers and program leads.
  • Influence and oversee marketing managers in development of client-specific marketing strategies for energy utility programs. Lead the execution of integrated tactics—including digital, print, web, social media, and public relations.
  • Lead marketing managers in connections between subject matter experts and the creative team for development of digital content for workforce development and e-learning platforms.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on campaign performance and strategic impact, highlighting key metrics, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Set expectations for the development of operational processes and workflows that ensure efficient, high-quality delivery.
  • Leverage data analytics and emerging AI tools to enhance audience targeting, content creation, campaign optimization, and reporting.
  • Oversee marketing managers in the review and approval of marketing materials, ensuring accuracy and alignment across internal teams and client expectations.
  • Manage department budgets, contract budgets and collaborate with Evergreen program managers on staffing capacity, and timelines to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor web development processes, communication and accountability for budget and timeline estimates and delivery.
  • Provide real-time coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities to direct reports.
  • Contribute strategic marketing expertise to business development and product innovation initiatives.
  • Participate in leadership-level meetings, provide marketing insight and contribute to company-wide planning.

Position Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership roles—preferably in B2C, B2B, and/or industries such as energy, utilities, or sustainability.
  • Proven success developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that blend traditional approaches (e.g., brand, media, events, print) with modern digital channels (e.g., web, email, paid media, social).
  • Experience managing cross-functional marketing teams with a track record of mentoring talent and delivering collaborative results.
  • Solid understanding of web development processes and management.
  • Strong background in data-driven marketing, including segmentation, performance analytics, and customer insight to drive ROI.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing technologies and AI tools, such as CRM systems, project management systems, automation platforms, CMS tools, and generative AI.
  • Demonstrated client-facing experience, with the ability to understand complex customer needs, design compelling campaigns, and present to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Deep familiarity with the energy or utility sector—and a passion for advancing energy efficiency, sustainability, or public-benefit programs—is highly preferred.

  • We are a fully remote telecommuting organization; therefore, you must have dependable transportation along with verifiable insurance.
  • Drug test – must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • A solid internet connection and home-work space.
  • Evergreen will provide a computer (programs for the position included in the computer setup), two monitors, a monitor stand, speakers, a webcam, a docking station, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a surge suppressor.
  • Must be available for occasional evening, early morning and weekend meetings and events.
