Senior Software Engineer – Medical Imaging AI (Lung Focus)

Their mission is to deliver cutting-edge technology that empowers clinicians to identify lung disease earlier and more accurately, ultimately improving patient outcomes and saving lives. Backed by significant external funding, they are scaling rapidly and expanding their world-class engineering and research team.
Position Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming innovative AI/ML research into robust, regulated medical imaging products. You will work alongside a team of highly skilled professionals to develop, optimize, and deliver solutions that integrate seamlessly into clinical workflows. This role requires both strong technical expertise and a passion for creating impactful products in the medical space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate algorithm prototypes (Python, MATLAB) into high-performance product code (C/C++) for use in medical devices.
- Optimize algorithms and code for memory efficiency and real-time execution.
- Define and contribute to algorithm architecture within medical device software.
- Prepare technical documentation in alignment with regulatory design control requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Development teams to improve solutions, share best practices, and drive innovation.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in product-focused software development.
- 3+ years of experience in image analysis, computer vision, machine learning, or related areas.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Strong coding skills in C/C++, with experience in Python and/or MATLAB.
- Familiarity with regulated software development processes is a strong plus.
- Experience with agile development practices and tools.
- Knowledge of DICOM, Intel OpenVINO, human factors engineering, or deep learning is highly desirable.
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and initiative-taking skills.
