Role Overview
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to design intuitive, data-driven user experiences for utility operators, engineers, and decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities
User Experience (UX) Design
- Conduct user research with water utility professionals to understand workflows, and software needs.
- Design user personas, customer journey maps, and wireframes to optimize usability.
- Develop and refine information architecture to improve navigation across real-time monitoring, asset management, and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to ensure user-centered design principles drive development.
User Interface (UI) Design
- Create responsive and accessible UI components for web and mobile applications used by water utilities.
- Design data visualizations, dashboards, and GIS-integrated interfaces that provide actionable insights for utility operators.
- Ensure UI designs align with brand guidelines, industry standards, and accessibility best practices (WCAG, ADA compliance).
- Prototype and iterate on designs using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
Collaboration & Testing
- Conduct usability testing with water utility stakeholders to validate design decisions.
- Work closely with software engineers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
- Gather feedback and iterate on designs based on user insights, A/B testing, and analytics.
Key Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on enterprise software, GIS tools, or water utility applications.
- Strong portfolio showcasing data-rich applications, dashboards, and operational workflows.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design tools.
- Understanding of front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and accessibility audits.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Experience designing for GIS platforms, SCADA systems, AMI/AMR interfaces, or IoT-based monitoring solutions is a plus.
