Position: Software Engineer III

Pay: $92-100/hr

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team, with a strong focus on media full stack and backend development. The ideal candidate will have expertise inPHP, React, and C++ which is used for building media-related applications and services, as well as a solid understanding of media ingestion and encoding, backend engineering principles, and media stack knowledge. In this role, the candidate will work closely with a senior software engineer to design, develop, test, and debug complex software systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the senior engineer on the team to identify areas of root cause and will assign out bug/performance improvement task

Will be independent of owning their stack tasks, writing code, and suggesting improvements

Needs to be flexible, proactive, and work independently

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on media full stack and backend development
• Media stack experience (ingestion and encoding) and familiarity with encoding formats Av1, HVEC
• Expertise in PHP, React, and C++ which is used for building media-related applications and services, as well as a solid understanding of media ingestion and encoding, backend engineering principles, and media stack knowledge

Nice-to-have Skills

• Former media companies would be a plus
• Needs to be flexible, proactive, and work independently

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or relevant field required.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on media full stack and backend development.
• Media stack experience (ingestion and encoding) and familiarity with encoding formats Av1, HVEC is highly desirable.
