We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Software Engineer specializing in Java to join our team and lead impactful development projects.

At EPAM Mexico, you will combine technical excellence and leadership skills to deliver innovative backend solutions and create scalable architectures that meet diverse client needs. Responsibilities

Build and support the optimal team structure by clarifying project goals, roles, and responsibilities
Ensure clear alignment of responsibilities within the Java engineering team to enhance collaboration and efficiency
Apply hands-on Java expertise, leveraging advanced knowledge of frameworks, tools, and libraries to drive development
Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to improve performance and reliability
Establish software development workflows from the ground up, ensuring adherence to best practices and technical requirements
Integrate Engineering Excellence (EngX) practices into development processes to uphold quality standards and foster a strong engineering culture
Monitor and measure development progress to ensure alignment with delivery goals and business objectives
Stay informed about emerging Java technologies, tools, and trends, introducing innovations to improve project efficiency and performance
Engage with stakeholders to understand business goals and maintain effective communication
Analyze architectural requirements (FRs/NFRs/Constraints) and utilize Java frameworks and tools to address project needs for small to mid-sized systems
Present and justify technical solutions to stakeholders, confidently proposing alternative approaches to meet project objectives
Participate in SWAT activities to resolve critical technical challenges, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution
Maintain expertise in Java frameworks and tools, such as Spring, while actively pursuing continuous learning and certifications

Requirements

At least 8 years of hands-on experience in software development
Minimum of 3 years in leadership roles, such as Lead, Manager, Owner, Architect, or Coordinator
At least 2 years of proven experience leading backend development projects using Java
Experience managing teams of 7 or more members, including hiring, mentoring, and conflict resolution
Successful participation in at least 5 full-cycle projects or product launches
Advanced proficiency in Java frameworks and tools, including Spring
Familiarity with Engineering Excellence (EngX) practices and addressing architectural requirements (FRs/NFRs/Constraints)
Excellent communication skills in English at an advanced level to collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders
