Senior Software Engineer (Java BE)

Join our global development team in Singapore as a Senior Java Engineer. In this role, you will design, build, and scale high‑performance financial platforms. Collaborating closely with teams in Singapore and Switzerland, you will deliver secure, high‑quality software solutions that meet the rigorous technical and regulatory standards of the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Integrate financial systems and third-party services to ensure seamless data flow
• Maintain code excellence through rigorous code reviews, testing and CI/CD practices
• Resolve complex technical issues across development and production environments
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications in collaboration with product stakeholders
• Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning and release rollout coordination
• Provide local post-implementation support for regional financial products
• Ensure all deliverables meet financial risk management and compliance standards

Requirements

• Strong command of Core Java 17, including collections, JSON, JDBC and Maven
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, JDBC templates, JPA and Messaging/JMS
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in Agile and global team environments
• Practical understanding of Unix operating systems and Bash scripting
• Ability to structure complex requirements and provide effective solution options
• Proactive approach to project ownership and initiative in a fast-paced setting
• Commitment to high-quality software standards and client-centric deliverables

Nice to have

• Previous work experience within the financial or banking industry
• Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and deployment pipelines
