We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Software Engineer who excels at overcoming complex data transformation challenges.
In this role, you will play a vital part in designing and implementing advanced data pipelines and analytics solutions that support critical decision-making processes in the client’s business unit. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact Data Transformation project that utilizes cutting-edge technologies, including Big Data, Palantir, and Machine Learning.
This position is part of the Property & Casualty Data Integration and Analytics project within the Data & Foundations division. The team is focused on a global initiative to leverage Property & Casualty data to improve decision-making across the reinsurance lifecycle. You will work closely with industry experts, data scientists, and engineers to develop innovative data and analytics capabilities aligned with the client’s strategic goals.

_Responsibilities
- Design robust data pipelines using PySpark and Python to process large datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Use Palantir Foundry to develop analytics applications for strategic and operational insights
- Manage data integration workflows across distributed systems, creating high-quality ETL/ELT processes
- Write advanced SQL queries for data transformation and warehousing
- Adopt Agile methodologies and actively contribute to Scrum ceremonies to align tasks with project objectives
- Document technical solutions and workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability
- Identify and resolve data processing or platform issues in production-grade environments
- Stay informed about advancements in cloud technologies, Big Data processing, and Machine Learning
- Conduct code reviews and foster adherence to software engineering best practices
Requirements
- Palantir Foundry expertise, demonstrating prior hands-on experience
- 5+ years of experience with a focus on distributed computing or analytics systems
- Proficiency in Python and PySpark for scalable data workflows
- Background in SQL (preferably Spark SQL) for efficient querying and warehousing applications
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes for handling large datasets
- Strong competency in Scrum and Agile development methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical discipline
- Analytical problem-solving skills paired with a strategic mindset for complex challenges
- Ability to independently manage workload while ensuring consistent delivery on commitments
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach, including work experience in multicultural, global teams
- Dedication to learning and staying updated on emerging technologies and data engineering best practices
Nice to have
- Background in insurance, financial industries, or finance-related data workflows
- Knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and build tools such as Gradle
- Skills in using Microsoft Power BI for data dashboards and reporting
- Expertise in Machine Learning or implementing Generative AI models
- Understanding of statistical models for integration into data pipelines
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms for high-quality engineering solutions
