Lead Backend Software Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Backend Software Engineer with expertise in Go to strengthen our growing engineering team.

You will play a key role in developing robust systems that enhance product functionality and align with business objectives, working in a dynamic and collaborative environment that values technical expertise and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain unit and automated testing infrastructure
• Design scalable, high-performance services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to consider the broader impact of technical decisions
• Conduct code reviews to maintain high standards and foster knowledge sharing
• Contribute to technical design proposals and proof-of-concept projects
• Promote and uphold engineering best practices to enhance team productivity
• Ensure operational excellence through system testing, monitoring, and documentation
• Oversee the stability and health of services during on-call occasions when necessary

Requirements

• 5+ years of total software development experience
• 3+ years of professional experience with Go
• 1+ years of relevant leadership experience
• Expertise in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based services and microservices (AWS preferred)
• Proficiency in SQL, databases, and Postgres
• Strong code quality, best practices, continuous delivery, and automated testing
• Flexibility to adapt to appropriate tools and technologies for various tasks
• Capability to work autonomously and influence technical decisions
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Familiarity with gRPC, Protobuf, and GraphQL
• Understanding of Amazon Redshift, Datadog, and Google Cloud BigQuery
• Skills in Lighthouse and MySQL
• Knowledge of Optimizely products and solutions
