We are seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to join our team and lead significant development projects.

At EPAM Mexico, you will apply your technical expertise and leadership skills to deliver cutting-edge backend solutions and design scalable architectures that align with client needs. Responsibilities

Define and structure project teams by clarifying objectives, roles, and responsibilities
Align team roles within the Java engineering group to enhance collaboration and productivity
Leverage advanced Java expertise, including frameworks, tools, and libraries, to lead development efforts
Conduct code reviews, resolve technical issues, and implement improvements to ensure reliability and performance
Create and implement software development workflows from the ground up, ensuring alignment with best practices and project goals
Integrate Engineering Excellence (EngX) practices into workflows to maintain quality standards and foster a strong engineering culture
Monitor and assess development progress to ensure alignment with business objectives and delivery timelines
Stay informed on emerging Java technologies and trends, applying innovative solutions to improve project outcomes
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and maintain effective communication
Address architectural requirements (FRs/NFRs/Constraints) using Java frameworks and tools to meet project needs for small to medium-scale systems
Present technical solutions to stakeholders, confidently recommending alternative approaches to achieve project objectives
Participate in SWAT activities to resolve critical technical issues, ensuring minimal disruptions and fast resolutions
Maintain advanced knowledge of Java frameworks like Spring and pursue ongoing professional development and certifications

Requirements

A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development
At least 3 years in leadership roles such as Lead, Manager, Owner, Architect, or Coordinator
At least 2 years of experience leading backend development projects using Java
Proven experience managing teams of 7 or more members, including hiring, mentoring, and conflict resolution responsibilities
Successful track record in at least 5 full-cycle projects or product launches
Advanced expertise in Java frameworks and tools, including Spring
Familiarity with Engineering Excellence (EngX) practices and addressing architectural requirements (FRs/NFRs/Constraints)
Advanced-level English communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with clients and stakeholders
