The Role

As our Senior / Staff Software Engineer, you’ll take a hands-on leadership role in shaping the platform’s architecture and technical direction. You’ll own key initiatives across both frontend and backend systems— building, refactoring, redesigning, and improving how our platform performs, scales, and serves users.

You’ll collaborate closely with founders, product, and design to build intuitive tools for festival organizers, filmmakers, and streaming audiences. This is a role for someone who thrives on impact, autonomy, and solving complex technical challenges in a fast-moving startup.

What You'll Do

Build, refactor, and maintain features across our platforms and products to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
Lead technical strategy around codebase health, architecture, and system design to support growth and innovation
Partner closely with business, product, and design teams to ideate, plan, and deliver impactful user-facing features
Establish and promote best practices in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, testing, SDLC, and developer experience
Own end-to-end technical projects aimed at enhancing user experience through pain point resolution, performance tuning, and streamlining workflows
Cultivate a collaborative engineering culture by providing technical mentorship, conducting code reviews, and encouraging knowledge sharing

Who You Are

5+ years of full-stack experience building modern, scalable web applications
Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and Node.js
Strong hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS)
Proficient in building and consuming RESTful APIs and both SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience with scaling systems, performance optimization, and infrastructure testing
Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving skills
Thrive in fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy

Bonus Experience

AI/ML integration (e.g., recommendation engines, NLP search, tagging automation)
SST (Serverless Stack) or other serverless-first frameworks
Mobile/TV development (React Native, Roku, Swift, Kotlin, Flutter)
Video streaming technologies (HLS, DRM, FFmpeg, CDN integration)
Analytics platforms (Mixpanel, Segment, GA4)
Ads integration and monetization tools for creators
Passionate about film, streaming, or building for creative communities
