About Enode
The world’s energy use is changing - but the shift to renewables is too slow. Unlocking it requires smarter, more connected solutions.
Enode’s platform powers the next generation of green energy apps by connecting and optimizing the world’s energy devices through our APIs. From electric vehicles to heat pumps, we enable flexible demand that prioritises renewable energy.
We work with the world’s leading energy companies and green tech innovators, giving them instant access to over 250M+ consumers - and the ability to help millions of people use energy more sustainably.
With the urgent need to decarbonise, there has never been a more critical time for Enode. That’s why we’re backed by leading investors like Y Combinator, Lowercarbon Capital, and Creandum.
Yet, we’re just getting started - and we’re looking for builders and innovators to join our mission-driven, passionate team.
About The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Integrations team, you’ll own complex technical investigations and infrastructure improvements to support key product initiatives. You will work inside a small team dissecting and analysing undocumented systems and APIs, surface insights, and develop strategies to inform both product and security decisions. You’ll influence technical direction through deep analysis and help mentor broader engineering teams to adopt best practices. We rely on tools like IDA, Frida, with codebases in JavaScript and Go, and infrastructure spanning modern cloud environments.
You will:
- Analyse, deconstruct, and document internal API, binaries, and communication protocols to support integrations or platform reliability.
- Dissect authentication flows and interaction endpoints to develop secure, reliable interoperability strategies.
- Develop tooling or prototypes to streamline analysis workflows and support investigative efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents when unexpected behaviors arise.
- Lead significant analysis initiatives end-to-end, collaborating with other teams throughout discovery and delivery.
- Facilitate technical discussions to clarify priorities and translate reverse investigation findings into actionable technical plans.
- Foster a culture of knowledge-sharing by writing clear documentation and hosting post-mortems or analysis reviews.
About You
- You are deeply curious and find satisfaction in unpacking how complex systems work, even when information is limited or undocumented.
- You thrive on challenging problems and are persistent in your pursuit of understanding, even when that means stepping into unfamiliar technical territory.
- You’re a fast learner who’s comfortable working in ambiguity and can break down complex ideas for others.
- You’ve shipped production-ready technical analysis or engineering projects or you’re eager and ready to do so with support and autonomy.
- You have some familiarity with systems security, encryption, authentication, or API design or the curiosity and persistence to develop this expertise.
- You can frame ambiguous technical problems and translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
- You’re an excellent communicator, able to convert deep technical findings into business‑aligned summaries.
- You value collaboration and shared learning, and take pride in helping others grow through mentoring, documentation, or feedback.
- You understand the balance between technical depth and practical impact, and consistently steer your work toward what matters most for the team and the business.
What we offer:
- Opportunity to join and impact an early-stage climate tech startup with global aspirations as we scale.
- A mission-driven, fun and caring environment with high drive and ambition.
- Competitive compensation, including a very attractive employee option program - you’re part of our journey.
- Remote-first in Europe, with the option of attending an office in Oslo or receiving a co-working pass on demand.
- Three annual off-sites to connect with the team in exciting & fun places.
- Flexible, human-first culture.
- Stipend for setting up your home office.
