eNGINE is hiring a Software Engineer with experience in Camunda, BPM, or workflow automation for a growing technology team in the Pittsburgh area. This individual will help build and implement a newly established Camunda platform supporting complex, end-to-end business processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a software engineer with strong Java or .NET fundamentals who wants to deepen their expertise in process orchestration and workflow automation.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop and maintain BPMN process definitions and DMN decision tables within Camunda
• Build external task workers and service-task integrations with enterprise and downstream systems
• Support the development and orchestration of business-critical automation workflows
• Integrate workflows using REST APIs, SQL, messaging, and queue-based technologies
• Write unit and integration tests for workflow components
• Troubleshoot process-execution issues and support active workflow instances
• Document process flows, technical decisions, and platform configurations
• Collaborate with the Camunda Architect and integration engineers on contracts, resiliency, and error-handling patterns
What We’re Looking For:
• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong development fundamentals in Java or .NET
• Experience working with SQL, REST APIs, and message-based or queue-based integrations
• Understanding of enterprise application integrations and distributed systems
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work within a newly established platform
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience with Camunda or another BPM/workflow platform such as Pega, Appian, or IBM Business Automation Workflow
• Experience developing BPMN workflows or DMN decision tables
• Camunda certification or related coursework
• Healthcare, revenue-cycle management, or specialty-pharmacy experience
