Job Description
EMOTIV is seeking a full-time Mid-Level Cloud Software Engineer with a strong background building secure, scalable distributed web services and big data analytics pipelines. The successful candidate will primarily focus on managing and enhancing our existing AWS infrastructure for development and production environments, supporting our internal custom APIs that serve our customer-side applications. Security is a top priority, and the candidate will play a key role in safeguarding customer data to fulfill ISO27002, GDPR, and HIPAA standards. Additionally, experience with GCP infrastructure to support our ML workloads is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop custom code as required to support the company’s product roadmap in Python on the Linux platform.
- Design, implement, and maintain data models and web services to collect and share EEG application data.
- Implement and maintain robust security solutions for authentication, authorization, and data encryption, ensuring compliance with ISO27002, GDPR, and HIPAA standards.
- Manage, scale, and optimize AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, SQS, RDS, Lambda, etc.) for development and production environments.
- Support and enhance internal custom APIs that serve customer-side applications.
- Investigate and address cloud-related support issues as required.
- Analyze AWS resource utilization and implement cost optimization strategies such as right-sizing instances, utilizing reserved instances, and leveraging spot instances where applicable.
- Coordinate with the software team, QA team and PO to implement and rollout features on cloud infrastructure within schedule.
- Contribute to the management and monitoring of our GCP infrastructure for ML workloads.
Key Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience building web services using Python on the Linux platform.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in Linux server setup/configuration.
- Proven experience managing and deploying applications on AWS infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and data protection standards (ISO27002, GDPR, HIPAA).
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience developing and deploying cloud services on AWS, with components such as EC2, S3, SQS, RDS, Lambda, etc.
- Experience working with cloud-based security best practices including OpenID Connect, OAuth2, JWT, and similar technologies.
- Experience designing and test automation of RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with SQL, NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc.
- Experience working with GCP infrastructure.
- Good English verbal and written communication skills.
