The Qualifications We Seek
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails (version 4/5) development - required
- 1-3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar technical capacity, or equivalent education and experience
- 3+ years of front-end development experience using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and system integration
- Proficiency in tools and technologies such as Delayed Jobs, Bootstrap, GitHub, and PostgreSQL
- Experience working with the Microsoft framework and SQL databases
- Strong knowledge of testing tools like Rspec and Cucumber
- Willingness to work project-based under a night shift schedule - non-negotiable
Your Daily Tasks
- Build new features from the product roadmap using efficient Ruby code and design patterns
- Maintain and improve existing code, tests, and features
- Work with third-party software, including SOAP and REST APIs
- Plan and develop efficient UX/UI for new and existing features
- Design, develop, and implement enterprise-scale solutions to support business strategies and goals
- Apply modern principles, methodologies, tools, and processes to launch new business capabilities
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to set specifications for new applications
- Write high-quality, well-documented code to develop complete applications on schedule
- Design creative prototypes according to specifications
- Perform unit and integration testing before launch
- Conduct functional and non-functional testing
- Perform design and code reviews of developed software
- Provide fixes for both development and maintenance change requests
- Integrate applications with third-party products and existing IT infrastructure
- Support clients during User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Provide high-value consulting services
- Continuously enhance technical skills and expertise on new products and versions
- Communicate with business analysts to fully understand requirements, provide feedback, and request clarifications as needed
- Review requirements and data models and translate them into responsible applications and architecture
- Track and resolve software defects
