Ellipsis Health is creating cutting-edge AI/ML products that solve healthcare staffing issues and administrative burdens using conversational AI and our patented voice biomarker technology in the delivery of better healthcare for everyone. We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Integrations) who can lead and execute integration efforts across various medical systems including EHRs, EMRs, care management platforms, and patient engagement tools. You will work closely with product, engineering, and clinical teams to design and implement robust data integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between our platform and third-party healthcare systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Salesforce Health Cloud).
• Work with FHIR, HL7, CCD, CDA, X12, ADT and proprietary APIs to ingest, transform, and export clinical data.
• Build scalable and secure data pipelines between internal services and external vendors.
• Own and implement authentication protocols (OAuth2, SAML, API keys) for secure data exchange.
• Create and maintain documentation for integration endpoints and workflows.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure integration solutions meet business and regulatory needs (HIPAA, HITECH, etc).
• Monitor, debug, and resolve integration issues and data discrepancies.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering in integration-focused roles.
• Strong experience with medical integration protocols like FHIR, HL7 v2/v3, and SMART on FHIR.
• Hands-on experience with EMRs and EHRs (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, etc).
• Experience building APIs and working with API gateways.
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages (Python, Node.js, Java, etc).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of healthcare regulations like HIPAA and data security best practices.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud or other care management platforms.
• Knowledge of standard healthcare ontologies and data models (ICD, CPT, SNOMED, RxNorm, OMOP).
• Familiarity with integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Redox, Rhapsody).
• Exposure to real-time messaging (Pub/Sub, Kafka) and ETL/ELT workflows.

Salary and Benefits

We offer competitive salary and benefits, including 401k matching up to a certain percentage of your salary, health, vision, and dental insurance, and very flexible paid time off. The typical salary range for this role is $140,000 to $200,000 USD. The amount offered will be determined by a variety of factors including but not necessarily limited to your individual skills, qualifications, and past experience relative to the requirements of the role.
