Job Title: Principal Data Scientist

Job Location: Alexandria, VA or 100% Remote

Rate: $70-80hr

Experience Level: Senior

• AI, ML, NLP Frameworks, models, and tools
• Machine Learning & Statistical Tools (e.g., PyTorch)

• Visualization Tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Big Data & Cloud Platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Version Control & Collaboration (e.g., Git, Docker)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain an innovation lab for cloud-native product modernization.
• Develop and engineer pilots, prototypes, and proof of concept solutions.
• Implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
• Develop data management and governance plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into data-driven solutions.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and generate actionable insights.
• Mentor junior data scientists and guide the team in adopting new technologies.
• Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI research.

Required Certifications/Education:

• Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a similar role.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance based on regulations.
• Must have lived in the United States continuously for the last 2 years.
• Must undergo fingerprinting as part of the clearance process.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
