Role Overview

We are seeking a Game Designer to create innovative AI systems that enhance player experiences in Battlefield. As part of the core AI team, you will solve complex design challenges and build player-focused systems in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.

Focused on PvP across multiplayer and F2P, you will be working as part of a cross studio team, collaborating with colleagues in several countries to deliver high-quality shooter experiences for an established franchise.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing AI systems for games, with a strong portfolio or shipped titles
  • Advanced proficiency in game scripting languages such as Blueprints, C#, Lua, or similar
  • Deep understanding of current trends in gaming, especially AI/NPC mechanics within the shooter genre
  • Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex systems and design intent
  • Proven ability to design holistic systems where multiple subsystems interact to create compelling gameplay experiences
  • Comfortable with iterative design processes, incorporating feedback and refining systems to achieve high quality
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across different locations
  • Interest in or knowledge of historical combat and AI systems is a plus

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in game design, with a focus on game systems and AI design
  • Track record of creating games or innovative game concepts, ideally within the shooter genre

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Game Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Additional Qualities

  • Genuine passion for the Battlefield franchise and a strong desire to contribute to its ongoing success
  • Experience working with behaviour trees
  • Player-focused mindset, always designing with the player experience as the top priority
  • Proactive in staying up-to-date with industry trends, styles, and emerging technologies in game development
