Growth Strategist or Sr. Growth Strategist
El Toro Interactive | Mid-Level | Full-Time
About the Role
El Toro Interactive is looking for a Growth Strategist to join our performance marketing team. This is a mid-level role built for someone with 6–7 years of hands-on experience in paid media and digital marketing who's ready to take ownership of multi-channel strategy for high-growth DTC brands. You'll sit at the intersection of media planning, creative strategy, and financial analysis — helping clients scale profitably through data-backed decision-making.
You don't need to have seen everything — but you need a solid foundation, sharp analytical instincts, and the curiosity to keep learning. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, like building strategy from the ground up, and can translate data into clear client narratives, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Media Strategy & Planning
- Own paid media strategy across multiple DTC client accounts, with a focus on fashion, beauty, and accessories brands.
- Develop cohesive, multi-channel media plans that connect brand-building to performance, spanning Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Google, YouTube, and emerging channels.
- Translate client KPIs into actionable budget allocations across channels, balancing short-term performance with long-term brand equity.
- Build and maintain media plans that reflect a clear point of view on audience architecture, channel mix, and sequencing across the customer journey.
- Proactively explore new partners, emerging platforms, and creative technology to keep client strategies ahead of the curve.
Creative Strategy
- Contribute to structured testing frameworks that systematically improve creative output — including hooks, formats, messaging angles, and offer framing.
- Identify creative gaps and opportunities in existing client portfolios and develop recommendations to address them.
- Help clients understand what's working creatively and why, connecting performance signals to actionable creative direction.
Financial Modeling & Profitability
- Build and manage financial models to support budget planning, ROAS goal-setting, and profitability analysis for DTC clients.
- Conduct financial forecasting and scenario modeling to optimize budget allocation across channels and campaigns.
- Develop new customer acquisition frameworks including CAC targets, NC ROAS goals, and LTV-informed investment thresholds.
- Use tools like Excel and Google Sheets to build dynamic, formula-driven models that clients can use operationally — not just as one-time deliverables.
Analytics & Attribution
- Partner with analytics teams to interpret campaign results through the lens of multi-touch attribution (MTA) and media mix modeling (MMM).
- Synthesize performance data into clear business narratives that are accessible to clients — not just raw numbers.
- Leverage platforms like Triple Whale, GA4, and native ad platforms to surface actionable insights on a weekly and monthly basis.
Client & Influencer Partnership
- Act as a trusted strategic partner to clients, supporting the Client Partner with media investment recommendations and growth roadmaps.
- Develop clear, confident client-facing communications — translating complex strategy into accessible recommendations.
- Support QBRs, sale planning, and strategic roadmap presentations with data-backed narrative and sharp recommendations.
What We're Looking For
Required
- 6–7 years of experience in paid media, digital marketing, or DTC growth strategy.
- Hands-on experience managing paid social campaigns across Meta and at least one other platform (TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets — you should be comfortable building financial models, writing complex formulas, and creating reports from scratch.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to move between channel-level performance data and business-level insights.
- Experience with e-commerce DTC brands; fashion, beauty, or accessories experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write and present client-facing strategy documents.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced agency environment with multiple clients and competing priorities.
- A growth mindset — you're willing to learn new platforms, adapt your approach, and iterate based on data.
Nice to Have
- Experience with attribution platforms such as Triple Whale, Northbeam, or Rockerbox.
- Familiarity with MMM or MTA concepts in a practical client context.
- Experience developing creative briefs or collaborating with creative strategists.
- Background in financial modeling or media mix planning.
- Exposure to influencer strategy or affiliate/partnership channels.
Who Thrives Here
This role is a fit for someone who's energized by the intersection of strategy, data, and creativity. You'll do your best work here if you:
- Prefer building systems over one-off answers — you want your models, frameworks, and briefs to be reusable.
- Are comfortable presenting to clients and defending a strategic point of view.
- Can hold both the big picture (what's the right channel mix for this brand?) and the detail (why did CPA spike this week?).
- Think of creative and media as inseparable — you don't plan without thinking about how it'll be executed.
